Empowering the Future Through Education: The ‘Back to School’ Program

Healthcare alone cannot lift Burundi out of poverty. A strong nation needs educated citizens who can drive change in every sector. That is why, alongside our medical mission, we are deeply committed to empowering young Burundians through education. The ‘Back to School’ program is the heart of our community support efforts, helping underprivileged children return to school and pursue a brighter future.

Our vision is to support as many underserved primary school children or orphans as possible—whether Christian or not—who would otherwise never have the opportunity to go to school. Currently, we are supporting a pool of 130 children every year, providing them with basic school supplies and equipping them until they finish primary school.

For those who excel, we extend our support into high school and, God willing, all the way through university. Our dream is to see these children rise up as doctors, teachers, engineers, and leaders who will rebuild and transform Burundi. If the Lord provides, we hope to support all of them throughout their entire educational journey.

I understand firsthand how life-changing this kind of support can be. I am who I am today because people believed in me and put me back in school when I had abandoned my education due to social injustice and a broken system. Their faith in me changed my life, and now I am committed to doing the same for others.

Education is the foundation of a brighter future for Burundi. By investing in the next generation, we are breaking cycles of poverty, restoring hope, and building a nation that honors God.

This mission—both in healthcare and education—is more than a career. It is a calling. A sacrifice, yes—but one made with joy, knowing that through faith, medicine, and education, lives will be changed for eternity.

Would you join me in prayer and support as we work to raise up skilled, compassionate physicians and future leaders for Burundi?
